Soul Brother

I’ve said here before, my life never stops being just absurd and strange. Everything falls in my lap without any apparent pattern. Things happen, and when they do, I write them here. Apparently Nirvanablogs is just the name of this novel. Now there’s an idea.

I came out of class tonight, and normally I go straight home. It’s an evening class, so I’m usually ready to go back to my cave and rest my mind. In the spirit on spontaneity, I decided to come here to Peace on Earth to write a few blogs.

After grabbing a jot cup of joe and finding a cozy seat where I can create blogs, a gentleman about my age meets my eye. Now this is something I cannot put into words. Sometimes things are only a matter of the heart, and cannot be fathomed by the mind. As sensitive as I try to keep myself, it’s not difficult to feel the vibration of another human being. This gentleman whose name is Nicholas, strikes up a conversation with the tilak that I wear. I realize this isn’t typical for most people to strike up conversations with strangers only by making eye contact. For me, it’s beginning to become the norm. Like I’ve said before — strange is just the new normal.

Nicholas and I sat and spoke for almost a half hour about many things. This person clearly operates on a higher level of consciousness. It is difficult to explain why. For one, his entire message in conversation was uplifting. He spoke about the power of sharing your smile. That is a powerful message. I learned this from our great leader a few years back — Thich Nhat Hanh. It is a blessing to others to share your smile. Nicholas is right about that. He felt so ademate about the power of smiling that he branded it! Literally he creates merchandise with smiles and a powerful message of positivity.

We discussed collaboration between his expertise in creation and mine. We discussed suicide awareness and prevention — which we both feel passionately about. We spoke about meditation, spirituality, dharma and many other things. This was all very strange to be happening, and on top of it all, we are reading the same book right now, “The Autobiography of a Yogi”.

Thank you Nicholas — my soul brother. You’ve inspired me, and given me the content to continue as a creator. We crossed paths briefly and I wish you well in all your endeavors. Keep on spreading your message of positivity, you are surely making the right Karma.
